Tui Community Spiritual & Education Trust

October 23, 2005

The healthy social life is found when in the mirror of each human soul the whole community finds its reflection and when in the community the strength of each individual is living. – Rudolf Steiner

The Tui Spiritual & Educational Trust is a charitable Trust dedicated to the general promotion and enhancement of community life.

The Trust gains much of its impetus from the working example of Tui Community and some of its objectives are realised by providing programmes in which people may visit, experience and learn the workings of an intentional community.

The Trust is also passionate about providing Events for Adults, Teenagers and Children.

Tui Community was founded in 1984. Twenty years later it is a blend of an “intentional community?, and a “village? where people have deliberately come together to share lives in a way that goes beyond nuclear family living.

Today 30 – 40 adults and children live in a beautiful place by the sea, Wainui Bay, on the edge of the Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand’s South Island.

Among the many activities of the community, we grow a large organic garden, an integrated organic orchard, and some shared communal meals.

  1. Dear readers.
Being a journalist I am always looking out for interesting topics to write about.
I have heard from your community through television and because I bought the book Mandala Magic. That inspired me to get in touch with you and visit you as a journalist and friend. What I am looking for is a Dutch doctor in homeopathy, a classic homeopath ( NZ or Au) and a Dutch person living at Tui Community preferably being involved in something interesting. Those articles will be published in Australia, New Zealand and Holland and/or Belgium.
Because I live in Southland it is impossible for me to travel up and down in one day. Is it possible to stay at your place for about a week? I am willing ro participate in activities as well or combine my stay with a course if available.
I suggest to come over somewhere between the 25th of January and the of 4th of February.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
    With kind regards.
    Birgit Blankers,
